Driver, code named Zed-36 and under the direction of Gelorum and CLYP, set out to sabotage the World Race and reach the Wheel of Power before the other drivers. Zed-36 was unmasked by Brian Kadeem - revealing Kurt Wylde. Kurt wanted to keep the Wheel of Power from Dr. Tezla, believing that no man should hold that much power. The comics imply that CLYP was also going to help get Kurt reinstated back into the driving circuit as an additional motivation for his actions.
