Built by the Accelerons, Dr. Tezla describes the Wheel of Power a source of unlimited, clean power. Once obtained and brought back to our dimension, it proved to be uncontrollable and was returned to Hot Wheels City.

Later, it was discovered to be a map that, even in holographic form, would open portals to the Racing Realms. The Wheel was stolen by Gelorum and the Racing Drones in Ignition. Though the Drones have the physical Wheel, it appears that they also use a holographic projection of it to open the Realms.

Note that the markings change on the Wheel of Power between the World Race and AcceleRacers.
